“Alright 7 o’clock, let’s do this” I hear myself say aloud to my 7 pm cross fit class. I clap my hands together for emphasis and walk through the cloud of chalk dust and focus on what is ahead of me. The clock beeps the last remaining seconds “4, 3, 2, 1” and the WOD torment begins. It is torment to go faster, to not give in, to keep pushing yourself to do better. It is stress relieving, empowering torment with an amazing, diverse group of people that I never would have imagined myself with two years ago.
There really isn’t a beginning or an end to my story. There is just this time in my life right now where I am truly committed to making my life better mentally and physically.
I am a 65 year old grandmother of four grandchildren and a lucky mother of two capable and remarkable cross fitting adult children and I cross fit too!
