My name is Melissa and I am: a Jesus follower, wife, coach, and competitor. I grew up trying all kinds of different sports. My focus in high school was track and field and I was recruited for the 100m and long jump. After a serious injury my senior year, though, I decided to not accept scholarship opportunities, go to San Diego State University, and walk on to the Women's Rowing Team. I made the team, and eventually earned a scholarship, along with a spot in the Varsity 8. After college I found Crossfit (loved it!) and from Crossfit I found what I believe to be my true passion, weightlifting. As of now my primary focus is on lifting, but I still manage to get a WOD in I love athletics and competing, but I especially love coaching. I currently coach at Crossfit Resistance with the nicest/coolest coaches and members you will ever meet. I try to live my life by a simple motto: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not human masters." (Colossians 3:23). I believe that as long as you give your everything, it doesn't matter how "good" you are, people will be moved by your passion and hard work.
