Holli Hodge

I am a 34 year old wife and mother of 3 beautiful Children 8, 5, and almost 2.  I am an owner of a Group Home Daycare that is licensed for 16 kids.  I average around 50+ hours a week at work and have been doing that for the last 10 years successfully.

I grew up in a sports oriented family softball, basketball, track, and even cheered.  I was in sports my whole life.  I even was nominated my Senior year to be an ICCA All Star Cheerleader which was a great honor.  Sports were my life for the first 18 years on this earth.  Then when I left for college things started falling apart.

I was able to get married at 25 and start having children but from 2002 -2010 my physical
battles started. First suffering from a Severe Panic Disorder that left me almost helpless.  I was suffering from anxiety, depression, and was having paralyzing panic attacks.  Then after our first child I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism which explained my battle with weight.  The doctor suggested a reintroduction of exercise into my life, or suffer with joint pain, hormonal imbalances, weight gain, and the anxiety that I was still battling.  So time to make a change.

It was at this time that I started going to Funxional Fitness Concepts (FFC).  My brother loved the
crossfit atmosphere, and I could see changes in him physically and mentally.  It was at this time that I had made a promise to myself that I would make myself a new healthier me, and not use the full time job as an excuse.  I would not let the anxiety, and hypothyroidism control me.  I love my children but that wasn’t going to be my reason for staying home from the gym, they could come with me on this journey.  My husband and I with our kids head to the gym daily, and if for some reason we can’t make it we have a home gym now so to not miss out on a chance to better ourselves.  I have competed in 3 Crossfit competitions this last year with Barbell Battle 2016 right around the corner.
