I was a gymnast for 17 years and competed in college at the division 1 level at the University of Denver. I started crossfit in the summer of 2013. After my first Crossfit Open in 2014 I made it my goal to qualify for regionals. That summer I also began training to compete in my first weightlifting meet. At that meet I qualified for the American Open, and fell in love with the sport. I began to compete as much as possible and trained hard to try to qualify for both USAW Nationals and AO in 2015. Though I narrowly missed making Nationals, I did qualify for AO's again. In the 2015 Crossfit Open I was able to greatly improve my placement from my first year, but fell just short of my goal. This year I have competed more than ever and have really enjoyed being an athlete again as an adult. I work hard every day to reach my goals and to be a good example and leader to the girls I coach in gymnastics as well as my fellow crossfitters and weightlifters. I love being able to represent my gym (Crossfit Seven Cities!) in 2 sports and especially love the community and family we have there.
